>>213121592>fit a lot more of the worldbuilding and lore from the books into the longer runtime. That's the thing, I never had any interest in reading the books, but I had some audible credits to burn, and I saw that there's a version stephen fry narrated, and with the exception of goblet of fire, half blood prince, and deathly hallows, the rest of the movies manage to fit pretty much everything from the books into the movie. Mostly because the books are really fucking basic and easily compresses.
And the things that do cut don't really do much heavy lifting on the world building. You'd naturally expect that the books would have more of the "school" side of things, but they really don't, except for them constantly having 50 hours of homework every night.
Goblet of fire cuts out a lot of plot stuff, like how barty crouch jr. got out of azkaban, or how he replaced moody, or dobby and winky the house elves. But I don't think it stops anything from making sense int he movie.
Otherwise the biggest difference is you realize how much of what hermoine says and does in the movies is spread out over other characters in the book, and how ron isn't as useless.
Don't think there is enough to flesh out a whole TV series, it would have barely made for an extended edition of the movie like lord of the rings.
