The South African music scene is pretty small, and I knew both yolandi and Ninja back in the 00s. They were both ultra privileged from very wealthy families and went to two of the most elite schools in South Africa, Parktown Boys and Menloepark. Meloepark was a boarding school for "creative" children of the ultra wealthy and Parktown Boys is kind of like Eton in the UK.
They made an act out of puerilely mocking the only people who it's politically acceptable to mock, poor white afrikaners who have received about the shortest end of the stick imaginable in the new south africa. It's an act made up of pure cruelty and spite and the ultimate example of performers punching down on the helpless.
In addition Ninja was known to be quite "handsy" with female artists.
I just think people should know this about them.
