Are stand up comics actors? They are basically putting on a persona to play out stories either by insertion or narration. They are playing a character. I checked the board rules, this is allowed.

but no I think these comicfags are just friend simulator / grifter / influencers. they don't really make any valuable content. it's just for people with no life / sitting job like driving a truck to listen to

It's a good question OP. I think most stand up comics would insist that they are not actors, though.

I don't think they are playing a character (unless it is literally an actual character, like Steve Coogan did on stage).

I feel like there is more crossover between comedy and acting than other performance "arts". Comedy is more about your timing, phrasing, and presence than just saying funny things, so the skillset transitions well to acting on screen, at least as characters who are essentially yourself

lol this guys just a low iq goofball, just like a lot of the guys Joe use to bring around. I think Joe is a pretty smart guy at least when it comes to entraining ideas and helping make abstract concepts easier for normal people to listen to. He trys to only hangout with verified comedy guys now who wont make him look like a Buffon simply by context.
