>>213327733 (OP)were the magic abo powers that let him mind break animals real or not?
1/8 At the beginning of the film, some scenes seemed to indicate that Dundee was merely an exaggeration with little basis in reality: the fake consequence of the crocodile attack that made him famous, the trick of pretending to be able to tell time just by looking at the position of the sun, and shaving with a hunting knife.

>>213327864I'm sure she didn't wear a bra the whole movie
>>213327859However, we realize almost immediately that Mike is actually a competent hunter. He casually picks up and kills a dangerous snake, rescues a girl from a real crocodile attack, saving her life, and tames a buffalo with a sleight of hand. It's interesting how the film doesn't take an ironic or cynical stance toward the protagonist, simply letting him be who he is.
>>213327941>2/83/8 The film avoids falling into the trap of trying to show that "the real jungle is the city, and humans are more dangerous than snakes." Mike and Sue both appear out of their element when they change their usual location, but Sue herself accepts that Mike was right when he told her that a city girl couldn't survive in the wild countryside.
>>2133280294/8 The film survives the change of setting and manages to maintain its tone. It's all too common for these kinds of changes to ruin a film, but Crocodile Dundee makes the transition competently.
>>2133280855/8 Generally speaking, the comedy works. These kinds of films tend to exploit awkward situations and embarrass the protagonists to make us laugh at their expense. In this film, we laugh right along with them: the bidet in the hotel, the kangaroo shooting the hunters, the assault with the small knife, the Australian aborigine in the dark.
>>2133281206/8 The film uses one of my favorite clichรฉs. A person from a small town goes to the big city, meets secondary characters, and treats them as if they were in their own town. Later, these friendships pay off, getting the protagonist out of a tight spot or advancing the plot.
>>2133281577/8 Linda Kozlowski is absolutely adorable as Sue Charlton.
>>2133281828/8 The film is short (1 hour 37 minutes) yet packed with iconic scenes. Baz Luhrmann needed 2 hours 45 minutes to show us the story of his film Australia (2008), and the last time I tried watching it again, I gave up before 30 minutes had passed and nothing much had happened.

>>213331108Nm, it was a real woman named Anne Carlisle and she even posed in playboy in 1984. That's disingenuous using a real woman to portray a male freak in a dress, trying to convince the audinece that the average tranny isn't a hulking monster.
The real person croc dundee was based on was murdered by police for being too based. This is a police state hell hole where no fun or croc hunting is allowed. The Australia portrayed in this movie was a fleeting whisper now long gone and almost forgotten.

the 4k release is called "Encore Cut"
>The Crocodile Dundee: The Encore Cut removes about 2.5 minutes of footage from the original film, focusing on scenes considered offensive or inappropriate by modern standards. Specifically, a scene where Mick Dundee verifies a man in drag is a man, and then repeats the action on a woman, has been removed. Additionally, a callback to this scene, where Dundee grabs someone's groin to check if they are male or female, has also been cut. These scenes were deemed transphobic and homophobic, and were removed at the request of Paramount Pictures and other distributors
>>213332256Yeah I aint watching this. That cut shit is hilarious. That damn Sheila with a dick.
>>213332256>These scenes were deemed transphobic and homophobic, and were removed at the request of Paramount Pictures and other distributorsWell they can just eat shit then. I happen to enjoy my homophobic and transphobic scenes.

I only remember the knife scene. I should probably rewatch it, seems based.
>>213332567Nah, your perception is warped by her beauty. The movie is good. It doesnt matter if you dont like it, but the pace, characters, dialog, settings, etc. are good enough to round the overall rating to a solid 6.

>>213332861I think the first one is enough. Fish out of water works once per character. I have never seen the second or third film. Same with Tremors, first one is perfect.
