I actually really liked Blacktain America. It was at least trying to be a different genre. It was basically a capeshit version of the 70s paranoid thriller. it’s 2.7/5 for a normal movie but 11/10 for capeshit.

Captain America Brave New World was meant to be their Winter Soldier moment. Winter Soldier set a mini status quo change with Shield being destroyed and people for years said Winter Soldier wasn't a superhero movie it was more a thriller, over and over again.
>Captain America finds out Shield is compromised because it was infiltrated by Hydra and visits an American base finding out Zola is still alive in a computer.
>Falcon finds out the President is compromised because he used The Leader and visits an American base finding The Leader there.
>There is a mysterious assassin (Bucky) with connections to the hero.
>There is an assassin (Isiah) whose turn is mysterious and is connected to the hero.
>There is a huge action scene in Washington as Cap fights against the odds to stop the Winter Soldier and the Helicarrier launch.
>There is a huge action scene in Washington as Falcon fights the Red Hulk.
Break it down:
>Hydra was set up in the last Captain America movie as was Zola and Shield have been present for several moments.
>The Leader was set up over a decade before it and Ross has only been a background character a few times.
>Bucky was an established character.
>Isiah was set up in a TV show.
>The action scene in TWS had more going on, characters working together.
>The action scene in BNW ends in Falcon soldier talking down Red Hulk.
The problem is simply, their ideas and concepts are never in the finished article. (The Acolyte creator said the show was going to be like Rashomon and a Jedi murder mystery and it was like neither.) The problem is they think their concepts on the page are the same as their past successes and they are simply not.

Ugly actors that nobody cares for playing D-Listers that nobody is invested in, stuck in bad movies from a filmmaking perspective. Nobody's kids are lining up to watch Pedro Pascal play himself. Nobody knows who "black guy with wings is". Thunderbolts was actually pretty cool, but they were all D-List supporting characters.

They need to use Secret Wars to reboot with some attractive, lesser known people. The MCU got built with AAA names in supporting roles and handsome B/C-Listers in the starring ones. They need to go back to that.

There, all their problems are fixed. They made everyone ugly. Namor for example is characteristically handsome, and they made him a literal fat wetback beaner midget.

This year's only breakout character was Sentry, and that's why he's being set up as one of the leads of Doomsday, whereas Fagscal is getting his role downsized.

but that's supposed to be the big twist of the film, you the viewer aren't supposed to know that Red Hulk is in this movie nor are you supposed to know it's Palmer until the very end when leader mentions the gamma radiation pills. It's just baffling to me how hard they dropped the ball
and Red Hulk only shows up for like 5 minutes for a fast paced shitty fight that ends with Falcon's signature move talking
