TASM has some good action and swinging and nothing else. NWH is worth checking just for Tobey and Andrew. Otherwise no, things are extremely fucking grim and Spider-Man isn't the character you knew.

Let's put it this way. The current iteration of Spider-Man, for most of his movies, gets all his suits from a tech billionaire. The suits have built-in AI and gadgets, none of which Spider-Man created himself, and some are nanotech which means they manifest out of nowhere as opposed to him pulling one on. His traditional comic villains are now enemies of the tech billionaire first and foremost, with Spider-Man only becoming their foe through circumstance as they try to get revenge on the billionaire. Also, the "spider sense" is now "Peter tingle", and his MJ is a perpetually snarky sour-faced mutt who exists to tell Spider-Man or his superhero friends how dumb they are for not thinking of everything.
