I'm not talking about Nickeloden/Disney Channel/Cartoon Network tv shows for general audiences (eg. SpongeBob and Drake and Josh), but the educational shit they give to kindergarteners and younger in Nick Jr and PBS Kids.

I'm 23, and for me, it's Blue's Clues (the one with Steve and Joe, not the 3d shit with Josh). I also like the Big Comfy Couch.

Do you find it weird when adults consume and enjoy children's media (assuming they don't interact with child fans), or is it a red flag?

I watch kids programming because I have kids. Some shows are pretty good, I also notice the quality in programming sucks every decade or so.

probably just exposure to cocomelon/brainrot and whatever and nostalgic bias, but a lot of children's program on youtube just feel sterile and sovlless

ms rachel seems promising
my 1 year old half brother really likes watching her
can't blame him, she's kinda cute

You mean shit for toddlers? The fuck is wrong with you. What possesses a grown man to work 9-5 and come home to watch Blue's Clues all night before going to sleeping and doing it all again tomorrow?

It's sometimes cozy to think about these old kids shows, and to have them on in the background. The one involving Pee-wen Herman was a little too creepy, though, including the movie.

For me, it's Pancake Manor. I can appreciate the effort that goes into the songs and the girl is not bad to look at either.

as a child i hated children programing and felt it was pretenious and demeaning. children shouldnt be babby talked to or under estimated. They should be treated with respect and expected to act with maturity and grace as soon as they are capable of doing so.

I usually think that I'm one of the most pathetic manchild losers on this website, but threads like this remind me that there are people who are far bigger losers than I am.

There was a channel on tv about ten or twelve years ago, that had shows for babies which I couldn't care less about late at night. But it had interstitial segments with a hot woman with a beautiful voice sitting on a bed and talking with puppets and shit. I've forgotten the name of the channel and the show, but she was very relaxing person.

I'm 20 and I think it's totally okay to enjoy children's media like that. I've always enjoyed things that portray complex social ideas in very rudimentary ways (i.e. cartoon marriage, doctors visits, garbage sites) because it's relaxing and helps me remember that nothing is really that serious.
Kipper is one such show. Very aesthetically pleasing and cozy

Baby Einstein is also a great example of what I'm talking about and just really good to watch while high or anxious

There was a show I was really nostalgic for that aired on Nick Jr. in the 1990s called Eureekaโ€™s Castle. I found a bunch of episodes on youtube and watched one and it was just too soft and sappy, like watching Barney or something. Very nostalgic but not something I could sit down and watch today.

Not sure if it really counts but I still put on some episodes of Pee-Wee's Playhouse from time to time. The absurdity of the series still cracks me up.

I sometimes find myself watching clips of some of the kids' shows I used to watch from time to time, but I don't know if this counts, but I think the last time I "watched" a kids' media is last year when I watched russian Mary Poppins (pic related), and though it was the most underrated gem flim I've ever found
