This is what ACTUAL zero cultural impact looks like. Every one of these made over a billy and no one ever spoke about them. JP3 made 300 millies and gets talked about daily.
>>213395977 (OP) >people go to theatre with friends or family >receive dinosaurs >once finished go home and enjoy life How terrible. We definitely shouldn't have movies like that, let's have more flops to post /tv/ threads about for decades.
>>213395977 (OP) They made almost all their money overseas. Superman is going to have a higher domestic then Rebirth which came out a week earlier over 4th of July weekend

>>213395977 (OP) These Jurassic park hate threads are fuelled by tribalism where the OPs film did terrible in the box office. Quite pathetic. I’d also it does have cultural impact when universal’s best ride is based on the raptors in Jurassic world
>>213396220 JP dead in the US. Each one gets a lower and lower domestic. Shit hole countries are still into dinoslop probably because life sucks so much they hope a T. Rex will eat them
>>213396220 I honestly feel like picrel is the new franchise's only achievement. A very lazy scene to justify why there's absolutely zero normal dinosaurs that are interesting. The JW films have nothing like "Oh, we cloned Carnotaurus and it had octopus-like chromatophores in life, neat." UNLESS its a fake animal that never existed, and at that point, why are you even making a movie about dinosaurs? (that you also say are boring and not interesting)
>>213396287 40 / 60 is a typical ratio. And I agree somewhat, this movie wasn’t advertised as the next big installment and clearly shows in much less box office. Anyway it’s only the poz approved slop like blacked panther or James gunns superman that has 50 / 50

>>213396354 JP was good because DNA was a new thing so the possibility of being able to bring dinosaurs to life was theoretically possible. We’re long past that. It’s more likely we will build Skynet and have Terminators with AI then bringing a dinosaur back
>>213396402 I still feel that the attitude is what kills any and all possibility of these movies being good.
Imagine if there was a scene that the writers deliberately put in by the writers where the characters say "Nobody in the world cares about sports anymore..." and its in a sports drama with 40+ minutes of CGI scenes of a sport. That is what the Jurassic World movies are.
>>213395977 (OP) People referenced the Pratt raptor taming and the mosasaur and that one woman who got torn to bits. I’d say the first one had some impact. The latter ones not so much. Compare with Avatar if you want a bar for money vs cultural void.

>>213396611 Exactly. Jurassic Park was as much of a horror movie like Jaws as it was scientific fiction/action. What made the book and movie scary is theoretically it was possible to bring dinosaurs back. But now, we know that’s not very likely at all. Horror always mirrors modern fears. Nobody is freaking out we will bring a dinosaur back. But an evil AI bot! You bet. Why we got M3gan and a bunch robots gone bad movies now
