>>213433847This. There’s a black guy we hired a few months ago. He’s /fit/ as fuck and 40 years old. The job travels 2/3 of the time so relationships/family life/friendships can be difficult, but he’s single. He’s a PhD because he “wanted to learn more” despite having the same regular engineer job title I have with just a bachelor’s.
He’s usually the only one in zoom meetings with his camera off. He responds to emails like he’s writing his resume, heavy with HR style talk. In one very long email that was almost certainly written by AI, he managed to use all of these buzzphrases:
>drive further operational discipline >contextualize the financial impact>behavioral accountability >escalation protocols>enable targeted trainingHe also responds to people asking for account permissions with emails that say things like “your request is granted.”
He’s constantly trying to solve problems that matter to no one with unrealistic or overkill solutions. Despite this, he’s pretty bad at doing his actual job. One time I asked him a question while he was doing something and he was visible pissed off at me for disturbing him and was clearly holding back a freakout.
I recognize all this because he’s just a severely more autistic version of myself.
