While fighting a supervillain, Superman spills the battle into Gotham city. During the fight, Wayne Towers gets damaged. Superman makes no effort to compensate Bruce Wayne so Wayne is forced to sue Superman. What entails is a court room drama/comedy movie by the witters of Better Call Saul. Movie ends with Batman and Superman joining forces to fight the drug cartel led by Bane.

Lex Luthor engineers the public's perception of Superman as being a threat to humanity. This pits Batman against Superman and they fight a few times before realizing what Lex Luthor has been plotting and they decide that they should be allies. Meanwhile, Luthor has also been using the remains of a dead Kryptonian to create a creature capable of killing Superman. Luthor's original plan for Batman and Superman having been foiled, he unleases the beast and Batman and Superman must stop it. Perhaps Wonder Woman has been watching from the sidelines as these events unfold, and she joins the fight at the end.

The act would be all about showing Batman and Superman working together as they try to stop the Joker from taking over Metropolis. The real story begins as things take a turn for the worse and Batman is forced to kill Joker to save Louis, leading into the second act. Here, Superman is forced to deal with an obstacle that can't be defeated with brute strength: Taking care of a guilt-stricken friend, which is made worse by the public now turning against Batman, forcing Superman to come out and defend him publicly. It turns out that this is a waste however, as Batman's mental state continues to deteriorate, leading into act 3: The Batman Who Laughs. In this chapter, Superman will be forced to face off against Bruce at his highest level, haven given him ample time to prepare during act 2. As the film draws to it's conclusion, a final gut-punch hits the audience as it dawns on them that TBWL is going to win and that the whole Gunn universe was doomed to be destroyed all along as Bruce finds a way to travel to other dimensions, leading into a proper Batman Who Laughs trilogy directed by Snyder himself.

Wonder Woman shows, explains that due to living on an island populated solely by sexy women, she is completely lesbian. The Joker is wreaking havoc on both Gotham and Metropolis via seemingly harmless pranks that at most would prove a minor inconvenience or annoyance to the common citizens.
