Avatar is awesome though.

And he's doing what he wants to do for the last 30 years, including exploring the ocean depths, at one point getting a world record for going into the ocean's depths. There is no more based director.

Might be something like that. I think there might be a bigger gap until Avatar 4 release and then later 5 than the previous ones. Especially if the earlier reporting about those movie plot lines going outside of the Sully family drama into a wider Pandora and maybe other planets is accurate.

>That was the deathbed vow he made to one of the last survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bomb blasts, to direct a film based on the upcoming Charles Pellegrino book Ghosts of Hiroshima. The book comes August 5 from Blackstone Publishing and The Story Factory, timed to the 80th anniversary of the moment the world entered the perilous nuclear age. Martin Sheen just signed up to narrate the audiobook.

>Here, Cameron explains his passion for a dark project he’ll balance with his continuing Avatar franchise. That has resulted in $2 billion-grossing entries, and which he says he will continue until the audience tells him they’ve had enough of the blue folks from Pandora. “We drop the next one December 19th, and we’ll take it from there,” Cameron tells Deadline. “I’ve got the scripts and we’ve done preliminary designs on four and five and we’re ready to roll into it. But audiences tastes shift, and maybe the movie won’t exactly be what they want it to be. Who knows? We’ll find out. We always find out the hard way.”

I just wish he would stop ruining his old movies with Ai.

His only great movies were Terminator 1 and 2, and that was because he stole the idea from Harland Ellison and William Wisher helped with the dialog.

He's always been a cornball who writes terrible dialog and his sense of aesthesis suck as evidence by his need to run all his older movies through the "blue simulated period blood in a Maxi pad commercial" filter.

Nah, Avatar is not the worst thing. His old movies remasters are trash. It's unbelievable how he ruined the colors and blurred the pictures of Terminators. I guess I'll stick with good old HDDVD versions wishing for a D-Theater rip.

Movies are dead. Cameron just uses movies to fund his eccentric rich guy ventures and boring causes. No real competition in filmmaking anymore, so guys who are ancient continue sweeping up all the cash.
