Every time the writers think "what if some rich guy way above Dexter's league was the season's villain" the show goes to shit.
Dexter is a bottom-feeder picking off similar easy target bottom-feeders, he shouldn't be fucking Agent 47 eliminating millionaires with tons of security and ways to get him caught.
Also none of the serial killers in the current villain's little bad guy club feel like actual serial killers. Trinity at least felt like a real mentally ill guy. Brian was a Ted Bundy type of a psychopath (maybe a bit embellished into Hannibal territory, but still believable). Even shitty villains like Skinner and Doomsday were somewhat authentic.
These guys (and the bitch from that cringeworthy capeshit show for femoids, I hope she dies simply because of that fact) feel like cartoon characters trying and failing to imitate a real deal. It feels like a parody of what Dexter used to be.

The main villain's motivation being that he's a cuck really didn't help because table conversations of the original show were great and you can't talk about much with a guy who's mad at his wife. Such a weak villain compared to even the lamest of the original run's.

I had this problem with the original series, every time there's an innocent kill, it's some cartoonish scumbag or somebody finishes the job for Dexter and absolves him of any guilt.
Say what you will about New Blood's ending (and a lot of hate is deserved) but him snapping the black cop's neck was actually refreshing. Too bad it was set up in a really dumb way.

But Hannibal also showed to be a better fighter against multiple attacker like when Verger henchmen tried to kidnap him. (script also has a scene where he kills 7 armed guards but it was never filmed, still canon because you can see the aftermath in the shows)

My only problem with Sergeant Logan dying is how stupid everything that led to that point was. Otherwise, it was a good scene in concept.
