I'm only four episodes in and its about on par with the later seasons of King of the Hill. There are maybe a few too many out of character moments in an attempt to make a joke, they definitely softened Hank but you could say its character development. Either way it has about the same amount of "we're living in current times" jokes as it did back in the late 2000s.
So far the funniest bit to me was the black Japanese guy.

Here's what I don't like about the show, voice acting issues aside:
1) the dunking on Peggy is too frequent and too forced. The first several minutes of the show have her getting owned repeatedly.
2) the show is overly reliant on nostalgia for events that weren't treated that way in the original run. There's a bit where it overlays Bobby and Connie dancing in middle school, but the original show never treated that as some watershed moment for Bobby or for Connie. Speaking from personal experience I don't pine over the first girl I ever danced with in middle school. Shit I saw her working at fucking Little Caesar's earlier this summer.
3) the timeline of everything makes no sense at all. If Bobby's 21 then Hank and Peggy can't have been gone for more than a few years at most. They simply wouldn't have been gone so long that they became that out of touch.
