i say something like "it's 12ish episodes of a single baseball game which essentially means it's real time in comparison to a typical Japanese Koshien tournament game" and then the person im telling audibly yawns and i try and save it with like "but it's fiction, an anime, so you get to hear all the players inner thoughts so you get full understanding of the decision making taking place" and they just fall asleep then and there....
