It's actually one of the more faithful videogame adaptations out there so yes, there's a lot of racing and mayhem throughout the series. The actual tournament stuff with several participants is mostly reserved for the end of each season, probably because of budget reasons. Other than that it's a pretty unhinged and comedic series.

This should've been an ensemble cast even if Mackie was leading them. There is 0 tension because you just know him, Quiet, Dollface and Mayhem are going to live.
