>>213503685 (OP)>more like CHAIRMAN OF THE BOREDOMG HE WENT AFTER CARROT TOP!!!! WHAT A COMEDY GENIUS!!! A GUY NOBODY EVER HAD TO GUTS TO MAKE FUN OF!!! OH AND HE CALLED OJ A MURDERER!!! WHAT AN ORIGINAL TAKE!!
>>213503685 (OP)He isnโt anti comedy. Itโs just irony.
Norm didn't have just one style, which is why memoria after his death were so contradictory. He was a comedy enthusiast, as well as a well rounded, cultured person, so he dabbled in many styles and materials. If you're a fan of his, it's probably because you enjoy learning about the old, quaint world his mind was still inhabiting long past its relevance.
>>213503685 (OP)He was an alright comedian. Not really special. He is just liked on 4chan because he had so many alt-right / rightwing extremist dog whistles build in his sets / jokes.
>>213503685 (OP)for how much funnier he was than pretty much every other comedian alive during his time in showbiz, why did he never have much of a career after SNL? He did Dirty Work and his sitcom then disappeared mostly for the last 20 years, only to do the video podcast show for the last years of his life. why didnt he never get no late night talk show or something like that? he woulda been better than all those other fruits who get their own shows
>>213504288>HE CALLED OJ A MURDERER!!! WHAT AN ORIGINAL TAKE!!Name 5 other celebrities who did that at the time
Could someone explain "this guy was a real jerk"?
This is the only joke I don't understand
>>213503685 (OP)he used to berate wait staff to the point of tears on a semi-regular basis, one of the best metrics available for if someone's a piece of shit
also that image of him people post all the time about 'everybody involved in that story deserved to die' was about the murder of brandon teena (and three other guys), that thing they made Boys Don't Cry about lol
he was funny on weekend update supposedly, personally i liked kevin nealon
>>213507132Nealon underrated as fuck, he was part of the better era of SNL so he had better guests at the desk during that era, but still doesnt get enough respect for his time at the Weekend Update desk. I liked his Weekend Update beginning intro song thing where his head would slowly spin, in the later seasons it became a Simpsons couch gag like thing where they'd do some different random visual gag every time with the intro (i liked this one lol, a different time!)
>>213507104They look like hollywood losers
>>213507485his hiking show is kino, also like Norm he was always one of the best Conan guests because he has history with Conan from working with him at SNL and they kind of have a similar antagonistic relationship of fucking with each other
He uses bad jokes as a paint brush to create great situations which are funny that's his appeal. It's always "I can't believe this guy is doing this" kind of funny. His funny-ness lies behind the scenes of his corny jokes.
Knowing how pissed Andy Richter was about being called gay and then making him get ass raped by miners is pretty funny
>>213505087His career was standup first and foremost
>>213503685 (OP)>I don't get it.Then don't worry about it.
>>213503685 (OP)chuds can't meme, taht's why he was never funny
>>213503685 (OP)Went above your head. No shame in getting filtered
>>213505087He was dying for 12 of his last 20 years
>>213506536>'everybody involved in that story deserved to die' >murder of brandon teenaHe's not wrong. She was a drug dealer killed over a dispute over drugs she had sold but they leave that part of the story out to make it seem like she was killed because she was a trannie.
>>213505087He also did Screwed with Dave Chappelle and Danny DeVito.
The Norm Show was gold!
https://youtu.be/-b3S4gQ68SA
>>213505087Norm never liked acting and knew he was a a bad actor so he pretty much called it quits on starring in anymore movies or sitcoms after that, only doing the odd acting role when Sandler or Schneider or one of his other SNL buddies would throw him a cameo role in one of their kinos
>>213509102Also he never had a character he could fall back on. Even in the Norm Show he lacked a consistent characterization, just became whatever the joke needed.
>>213509045His lesser remembered sitcom that came a few years later A Minute with Stan Hooper was underrated. It was basically a new take on The Bob Newhart Show (one of Norms comedy heroes when he was growing up) with Norm in the Bob role. Shame that never got a proper DVD release or is streaming somewhere legit
>>213503685 (OP)hes made me laugh more than any other comedian. whos your favorite comedian?
to be fair, you need to have at least average intelligence and low antisocial personality traits to appreciate dark humor
>>213509284I was not aware of that one.
>>213509419Matt Rife and all the other crowd work guys that come up on my algorithm!
>>213505087his whole shaggy dog story affect was pretty much talk shows and standup only
>>213504288what a hot take after it became socially acceptable to call OJ a murder, no one was at the time and he even kept doing it after SNL told him not too.
He reminds me of that tragedy
>>213509939It's what got him, shitcanned. That's legend material.
JIRO NIGHTMARES OF ASS RAPE
>>213509758>>213509565>crowd workwhat do you do for a living? no... what do you do for a living? ok not what im looking for... what do you do for a living? you fucking serious?
WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME TELL THIS GOD DAMN SUSHI CHEF JOKE
He's warm and engaging yet detached and disarming. Let's see you do that
No you don't know what the hell to think, do ya?
>>213510151The true story is even better than that. His writing partner Jim Downey told on Conan's podcast how they only wanted to fire Downey, not Norm. But Norm was not okay with that, and said if they fire Jim then they'll have to fire him too. Norm never told Downey (he found out years later from a network exec), and he let the world believe he got fired rather than tell how he honorably stood up for his friend.
https://youtu.be/ZQIFu9QEI9Y?t=134
>>213510955I didn't like him by the way. I'm just telling you why they do. I hated him though. I spent years plotting his grisly murder. I was going to lure him out of his condo with some cheese sandwiches, then I was going to take him to my shack where I do the kinds of things that make me feel like God. And then he died before I could do it. I mean, that guy was a real jerk
>>213504288relentlessly shitting on carrot top while his co-star is sitting right next to him trying to promote their movie is funny thoughbeit
>>213503685 (OP)His Answering Machine bit always killed.
Norm was assraped by a family friend when he was 8 years old.

What do we think about this?
>>213503685 (OP)He's just a weirdo, and sometimes that's enough
>>213503685 (OP)He's like if George Carlin wasn't a cynical proto-redditor. He's that type of comic, except good
>>213511294George Carlin fucking sucks. Don't ever compare him to Norm ever again or I'll heem you to next week.
>>213503685 (OP)I didn't care for his standup or when he was on SNL but he's funny in his podcasts and talk show appearances.
>>213503685 (OP)he's in everybody's youtube suggestions and he's just the right amount of obscure for literally everyone to know who he is while at the same time they still think they're being special for shilling him
>>213511624Young Carlin was good. He just got preachy with age and was butthurt about the Bush administration.
Michael Jackson's a homosexual pedophile. You know that, right?
