Not remotely fussed on Snyder's Superman but, ironically, it's a posthumous scene of all things where he finally did nail the feeling of Superman being such a powerful presence where you feel like everything will be fine in the end if he's around.

You can literally see people scurrying around on the streets during the Zod fight in many shots and BvS does something dumb like the Wayne Tower building being stacked until the boss calls and says 'gtfo', as if they needed to be coaxed into leaving ground zero of an alien invasion lol.

Frankly, I'd accept the full blown evacuation angle but I'll be annoyed at how cavalier Superman was in seeing the aftermath of Metropolis rather than being horrified and enraged. He even cracks a joke with Lois after they kiss and it's certainly not directed in such a way to make you think 'omg he's horrified but putting on a brave face and trying to kiss/joke as a tragic le coping mechanism'

Well the movie is very comic bookey/Silver Age relative to MoS and this world is already partially realised (i.e. like we know the JSA existed, etc.) so my reading was that this shit is par for the course for people. Invincible is like this was well until the Viltrumites or assholes like Angstrom get involved

you have different iterations of the character that as been around 85 years or so, Snyder went with the edgy version, that it is what you have in games like injustice and shits like that, Gunn went with something more close to the cartoons from the 90s, anyhow Gunn should have made a Smallville cartoon instead of fucking Creature Commandos, what a retard.

I never understood this. I can show you the Hammer of Boravia slamming Superman into the ground sending concrete and bits of sidewalk all over the place and that's all fine. But when Zod lasers a building in half Superman has to what? Quickly pause the fight with Zod to hold up the entire building? That's not how it works. He'd needle through the building and it would still fall, only this time in many pieces which is WORSE. Or wait, hold on. Actually you wanted him to pause the fight and move each person individually to a far away location, fast enough to escape the falling building but slow enough to not turn their insides into jelly?
Let me reiterate, these boomer fucks who are like 40 now and still angry over fucking cartoons, wanted Superman to pause the fight with a guy who just promised to kill all of humanity.
