It’s disturbing and slightly funny. Not scary.

The villain is one of the most sinister I've seen in awhile but it's very much a horror-comedy. A black guy in the theater described it as like an episode of courage the cowardly dog and I thought that was apt. Scary and tense but it also wants make you laugh and feel good about yourself by the end

i wouldn't say its scary more creepy, suspenseful, curious to whats happening

the movie is disjointed where we get storys of whats happening and finally at the end you now have all the pieces
you are still left with some questions

its the scariest, most skibidi toilet movie of the DECADE. I recommend playing subway surfer while watching it in the backgroung, have subtitles on and watch a mr beast video in a minimized player

This idea of a movie being scary is a difficult one to communicate
Assuming we’re all men over 18, what does it mean in the context?
Are there jump scares? Sure. A few. There are also tense moments when you brace for bad things to happen to characters you’ve started to root for.
There are also some gruesome moments that make you wince. One in particular that I saw coming and I didn’t want to watch with the cop and the teacher at the end.
If you’re a parent, you’re also scarred for a little kid and the nightmare he’s fallen into but you don’t see any good outcomes for him since the villain is sinister and completely ruthless
I don’t know how else to describe it. It was a very good movie imo. I’ve seen a few others this year and this had been my favorite so far
Maybe it’s just a slow year idk
It’s already available for download in all the usual places so don’t bother screaming about “shills”
If you don’t want to pay for it that option is available

>you are still left with questions
This will be true for almost any horror movie and it’s also the case that getting answers won’t satisfy you
Look at the Gore Verbinski 2002 move The Ring
Honest to god one of the best horror movies ever made, but in the end, there are still questions
So then we get The Ring 2, and Rings where some more questions are answered. Were we better off for all that?
Absolutely not hvsy2

Some nigger in my theater kept comparing it to Courage the Cowardly Dog. I had no idea what he was talking about

really should've mostly been about alex and then eased into the others. Movie's biggest flaw is the mystery can't realyl be solved and so much of the marketing and first half is about building that mystery

oh yeah I winced too at that one, very nice gory moment, much more effective than anyhting I saw in say, final destination 6, felt more "real"
The scene where Wong bashes his husband head got a few yelped during my screening
The ending was chase was very cathartic, the entire theatre was laughing; but then I and a few either people groaned at the ending screen, felt a bit too abrupt imo

this, alex segment was the strongest one in the film, kid actor was very good healso had fuckhuge eyelashes, that stuck with me for some reason, I think cop & junkie segment could have been cut off or rolled into one character somehow.
I'll also say that on one hand, I get that Max fucked drunk & horny Julia Gardner, but this fucker had his big titty supportive wife at home
