I convinced my friend to start watching Twin Peaks at the beginning of the year, we finished episode 1 and he checked his social media feed after to discover David's passing. Strangely I had been ravenous for donuts for almost two weeks prior, eating polish jelly and custard big ones, because my publix fucked up the bakery supply chain and was told to go ahead and sell these until they fixed the glitch. It's beautiful how that happened organically and I'm blown away by the positive reception my friend had to the show, given the fact he just doesn't like TV that much. We fished the first two seasons but took a break for the Return, and time has certainly got a way of slipping past us when we aren't looking. Thanks for reminding me to fire up the third season before the year's over, guys. Much love and hope you don't forget to treat yourself to an unplanned present every now and again to keep the good vibes coming. Cheers.

When this first came out I was really frustrated by it, I kept wanting Cooper to come back and didn't like the dougie scenes at all. I had expected it to be so much more like the original twin peaks. Years later, on rewatching it as it's own separate work, I appreciated it so much more. It's actually fantastic and unlike any other tv show I've ever watched. The only thing I didn't like was the bob orb. That part felt too cheesy for me

No, "AI", by itself, *is* creatively bankrupt.
As a tool for a real artist it could hypothetically be used to create something cool, but I don't think you could create anything transgressive and profound with algorithmic image generators alone unless you jailbroke them. Eraserhead could not be made with publicly available AI. Hell, half of Lynch's output would be caught by the built in censorship.

I have a feeling I know what it's all hinting towards but I cannot honestly say I feel conclusive enough about it to write a huge explanation here..

The one thing I will say though is that the 'tea kettles' are not exclusive to Jeffries, there's a scene somewhere late in Season 3 where you can see rows and rows of these things for miles, seemingly endless - I think that should give you a big hint as to what it all means.

Yeah allow me to clarify. I've seen the whole Twin Peaks lineup before, love it and FWWM was stupendous. Around the start of the year was when my friend was invited to join me because it had been years since I watched them and was feeling like enough time passed for me to re-experience it. He likes supernatural stuff, so after I convinced him to try it he was tolerable of the soap drama that unfolds around the spooky world building. He took several episodes off from season 2, but I don't blame him. If it wasn't for my love of how absurd Windom Earle was I might have done the same. I also wanted to see Josie get turned into furniture again and then never revisited. Pic related made it all worth it in the end however; I love the bookhouse boys.

I feared that the movie however might be a complete miss with my friend. I decided to give him a rundown of what it was offering to ask what he thought about it and he said the focus on Laura Palmer didn't really interest him, despite the fact it has a lot more supernatural stuff crammed into it than the show did, arguably. So I had counted this out of our rewatch for that reason, but I'm probably going to go and watch that first before we begin season 3 anyways. Coincidentally enough that's the same viewing order I had when I watched The Return anyhow. Binged the shows, pirated the movie and the extended movie and then made it just in time for the premiere of season 3.

I guess thanks for reminding me I need to watch two things now.

Why would I want to watch the characters I enjoyed when they were younger come back as jaded middle aged or older versions of themselves?
I enjoyed the original show until leland died (it went downhill afterwards) and I really liked the fwwm film but I have no desire to watch a digital sequel to them made several decades later with the same cast.
>but lynch man!
Don't care, he should have done season 3 within a few years after fwwm came out or not at all
>but you have to watch it to know how the story ends!
My own headcanon is sufficient for me, also I think its better to leave a story unfinished than to butcher it decades later

No.
There are plenty of people online who've shared their opinions about what they think it's about.
I've read some of them and thought about the show and I feel like I've got a decent understanding of it, but I've no desire to watch it again. My memory of the experience of watching it is precious to me and I don't want anything to spoil it.
