Quality of the joke aside, how do the writers not realize the hypocrisy? The character of Brian is literally just "Normal words, but a dog guy!". Not to mention Seth's other shows and movies "Normal words, but a teddy bear!"

Pretty sure when South Park did the episode where they made fun of family Guy in two parts and got overwhelming praise from every single other animated adult television show creators and writers as well as Matt and Trey getting gifts from all those people as well and literally pointing out how formulaic every single episode of family Guy is. You know you BTFOd somebody what number one? They try to retaliate by making a joke but when they try to make the joke even their own writing staff says that nah. This is actually a really shitty joke. It's lame and it kind of makes us seem like we're really pissed off which also makes us look lame so we shouldn't do it or else we look lame and gay so they didn't. And to my knowledge, they really have never taken a shot at South Park to give Seth MacFarlane as a bitch. Not a funny one at that
