Agent Cooper has the fatal flaws of overconfidence and an obsessive fixation on saving women, as seen at the end of season 2 when he confronts his shadow-self with imperfect courage due to his attachment to Annie.
You should learn from his mistakes, but in most regards yes you should strive to be like Coop. He's a good man.

BOB and the other Lodge spirits destroyed Twin Peaks. Cooper tried (and failed) to stop it.

It is possible
I remember enjoying season 3 a lot, around 2016 or a bit latter. Not sure how technologically feasible year wise, but tho. Anyways it was certainly so dream like, and while having no prejudices and just letting my sense flow with cinematography, I could enjoy it quite a lot for it's daydream poetry and what appealed to me (were or were it not what he wanted to portray)

The problem with Cooper is that he *didn't* acknowledge his own flaws - or at least, he didn't understand them well enough to address them.
The end of season 2 was him falling victim to his own failings that he had failed to confront. This would've been more clear if they had him get with Audrey, as >>213557352 mentions.
By the way, this was probably equally as much Mark Frost's plan as it was Lynch. He was more involved in the writing of season 2 than Lynch was.

how someone reacts to AI is the difference between a true artist and someone who only wants fame, wealth or recognition from art. AI will eventually put film production into the hands of a low income hobbyist with a PC. music production will gain new standards just like what the invention of the DAW did. bros will be able to make video games without knowing any code at all.

Season 3 is true Upanishadic kino.
If you read Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, the mystical Hindu text that the Dreamer quote is from, Twin Peaks: The Return and Inland Empire both make a lot more sense. I studied Yeats' translation as well as S. Radhakrishnan's - the former is a poetic translation while the latter is more literal and has extensive notes.
Remember anons:
>We are like the spider who weaves a web and then lives in the web. We are like the dreamer who dreams a dream and then lives in the dream.
>This is true of the entire universe.

Hope you check it out!
Here is S. Radhakrishnan's Upanishads translation:
https://archive.org/details/PrincipalUpanishads/page/n3/mode/2up
You could read all of them (I did) and it will help you get (part of) the spiritual basis for Lynch's work, but even just reading Brihadaranyaka Upanishad will make a lot of things click.
https://archive.org/details/TheTenPrincipalUpanishads
Here is Yeats' translation - it is much shorter and you could more easily read all ten, but definitely read both versions of Brihadaranyaka Upanishad at least if you rewatch Twin Peaks or watch Inland Empire.

I enjoyed it. Like most plots it went a little off-the-rails in mid-to-late season 2, but in season 1 and early season 2 it's solid, it's the petty politicking of local bigwigs who all have big personalities. It's classic soap opera stuff, but with better writing. To me, that is the essence of Twin Peaks, at least seasons 1 and 2.

the question remains what a "perfect" courage solution would look like? My analysis so far: by giving trading his soul for her wellbeing he does the in his eyes heroic deed. He does so immediately, without hesitation, but is this courageous? The hero defeats the monster against all odds, not because of a bait and switch offered by the monster. Coop had no trust in his ability to defeat the spirits, he did not value himself. The real solution was to prepare for the battle and learn from the spirits in the entrance room. It's like Neo trying to fight agents without doing the jump and hitting Morpheus

The issue was his intentions were not pure.
He wasn't acting out of dispassionate duty, he was too emotionally invested and his self got in the way.
