How can anybody be bothered by inconsistencies in Alien when it is the most inconsistent franchise of all time. None of the lore makes sense, the creatures aren't even the same from movie-to-movie, they retcon each other constantly, and nothing about that world is even really known except sometimes there's an Alien running around.
