Nothing's perfect, you might smirk at a muppet or a crab-walking stuntman, but people don't credit enough that that place and time in real life and media is the first time audiences ever looked at a vision of a spaceship and intuitively believed what they saw
Why DO the interiors of the Nostromo and the Millennium Falcon still look so "real," tangible, legitimate pieces of functional technology to audiences fifty years later, but any film from just a decade or two prior to that is always unbearably kitsch?
