I don't know anyone who's obsessed with it. It's a fun childhood movie for most people. But for some I guess it might have been their furry awakening or something.

There was a point in time where Michael Jordan was the most famous man on Earth and Bugs Bunny was the most beloved cartoon character on the planet.

To add to this, the film debuted immediately after Jordan had left the NBA to be a pro baseball player and actually incorporated that entire real event into the film itself. Where was Jordan for those seasons he missed? Why, he was saving the Looney Tunes. And then the man went on to win 3 mire championships and to become the icon of the sport itself. Add to this, one of the most memorable compilation soundtracks of any 90s film, powered by the Warner Music catalog.

Zoomers are not physically capable of understanding this, but the world actually just was a better place in the 90s. We werent worried about wars, terrorism or economic collapse. Racism felt like a relic of the past. No one cared if MJ was black, every kid on Earth wanted to be Like Mike. We had the best movies, music and tv shows all at the same time as the best economy. If you were a kid, this meant toys galore. Jordan, Looney Tunes and Space Jam merch was fucking EVERYWHERE. They were universally loved. Air Jordan was the All American Superman, when you watched him you'd believe a man could fly. Long story short, The Matrix was right: the 90s was the absolute peak of humanity as a species.

So why can we never forget Space Jam? Because it was the most famous athlete in the world teamed up with the most famous cartoon franchise in American history, in a kid's movie with one of the most memorable soundtracks ever, at very possibly the single best time in history to be a kid. The memory of that time is more precious and worth protecting more than every reality you have ever known, zoomer.
