I can only have 3-4 beers when i have to go for a drive. Maybe during social events where not having a drink in hand makes people think less of you. With friends i try to time it taking two shots every 30 minutes or so, an enjoyable buzz. By myself i see no better option other than consuming as much alcohol as possible in a very short timeframe, it is the better option, to get as fucked up as possible, forget life

This is another thing. None of my friends ever drank alone and got hammered. Only me. And I fucking loved it. Just speed running getting ultra drunk in the safety of your room alone feels so beautiful .. worst you can do is make a phone call to a friend or get black out drunk and sext your friends wife

>Can I ask you guys why this is for you?

here you go champ:

Alcohol becomes addictive due to several physiological mechanisms that alter brain chemistry and function over time. Here's a breakdown of the key factors:
How Alcohol Affects the Brain
• Dopamine Release: Alcohol triggers the release of dopamine in the brain’s reward system, creating feelings of pleasure and reinforcing the behavior of drinking.
• Neurotransmitter Disruption: It alters levels of neurotransmitters like GABA and glutamate, which regulate mood, inhibition, and arousal. This can lead to both calming effects and impaired judgment.
• Tolerance Development: With repeated use, the brain adapts by reducing its response to alcohol, requiring more to achieve the same effect—this is tolerance.
• Withdrawal Symptoms: When alcohol is removed, the brain struggles to rebalance, leading to withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, tremors, and even seizures. This discomfort can drive continued use.
• Brain Structure Changes: Chronic alcohol use can damage areas involved in decision-making, impulse control, and emotional regulation, making it harder to quit.
The Addiction Cycle
According to neuroscience research, addiction develops through a cycle:
1. Binge/Intoxication – Seeking pleasure and reward.
2. Withdrawal/Negative Affect – Drinking to avoid discomfort.
3. Preoccupation/Anticipation – Craving and obsessing over alcohol.
These changes are reinforced by the brain’s plasticity—its ability to adapt—which means addiction can become deeply ingrained, but also that recovery is possible with proper support.

monke brain needs to feel pleasure as much as possible
alcohol, when considering its ease of access and time to kick in, is logically the best way to achieve this
therefore monke needs to consume as much alcohol as possible

@213606542
It's because you are addicted so it's harder to break that cycle I outlined the physiological reasons for this. It's not discipline for other people they're just get a slight buzz then stop because they aren't addictive and their brain isn't screaming at them to have another and another to get more and more drunk because the brain is addicted to the dopamine rush.

Then when you get properly addicted as others have outlined then tolerance becomes a problem you can't just have one to achieve a buzz you need at least three and then the brain wants to get even more drunk so you kick on to 5 or 6 and the vicious cycle continues until you've had 10 or more and you pass out.

It's the latter. I know when my switch turns on. It's after 2 high % beers or 3 standard units in under an hour and a half but 20 min absorption time per unit. Anything less I can stop pretty easily. Checked my pulse and blood pressure every 5 minutes, was very autistic about it. Bloodpresurre rockets up after that and I'm off to the races.

I can have 1 while needing 20.
I've quit booze for 3-4 months many times over the years and I always came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it. I've never considered myself an alcoholic. If I drink during the week it's 1-2 beers at most, and I don't even get stone drunk at t he weekends anymore. I just need to take a break from myself now and then and drinking is the only way I know to achieve this.

Alcohol makes us feel a kind if euphoria you can't really get normally. I'd value the alcohol "high" 3x as strong as busting a nut in a woman you live. When I start drinking it literally feels like I'm in heaven. Naturally, my body doesn't want this to stop. And I won't stop. I know what the consequences will be but it doesn't matter. It's a compulsion

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

>You really get something out of it with so low doses?
Yes. The goal is to reset your brain, not feel a buzz. Even at 0.08 grams, I felt a slight body high the first time I took it but it wasn't much. The biggest benefit I've had from microdosing is being able to control my stress response to things, and being able to analyze how my body interacts with my mind and vice-versa. It takes time and effort to accomplish this. The shrooms are just a tool to make it easier. They won't do it on their own.

>are we talking about some "pure psilocybin extract"
No, I've never tried it. I'm talking about just good old fashioned caps and stems. I used to turn them into powder and pill them. I liked this because it creates a uniform blend. Depending on the strain, certain parts of the mushroom are more potent, sometimes it's the stem, sometimes the cap but often the knuckles are most potent. If you chop it up into powder and mix it, you avoid accidentally dosing too high. However, I'm at a point where I just eat a small amount without pilling them up. I will typically test the potency by tripping on the weekends recreationally.

You were lucky to get out when you could still get any enjoyment out of it. At my end I was drinking so fast that I couldn't enjoy it at all. Straight to blackout. And the blackouts would somehow retroactively erase my memory too, so I'd only remember my first couple drinks and not up until the 17th or whichever one would black me out. Not a lot is understood about the progressive element of destructive drinking. And it's different for everyone.
Whoever is able to stay sober is damn fortunate.

Normal people don't respond this way to alcohol. It's an allergy. If you don't have it you can never understand. I will drink until I can't stand up to get more. I've drank so much I couldn't get out of bed except for diarrhea for 3 days. Total alcohol poisoning. Dry heaves with burning yellow bile. I must never return to boozing. What a nightmare.
