well when it started (and for a good while) the animation and visual were horrible. honestly it looked like shit.
storywise, it's not fantastic either, they brought freezer back made a bunch of new power levels that are pretty boring to look at (red and blue)
I don't even remember all the story arcs because most of them were pretty boring/bad until the last one which was ok (a giant tournament).

and for some reason they also made a new show last year called "db daima" which completely ignore super and start over after boo. Visually it was better but storywise it's still not that great (they made vegeta go ssj3 and sangoku ssj4 like in gt).

Garlic Jr. arc sets up Gohan in the Cell Saga beautifully. It's annoying to see Kame say "Run, Mr. Popo!" one hundred times. But no one knowing or acknowledging Gohan having saved the world in secret between Frieza and Cell adds another layer to him being the ace in the hole with Cell.
