I tried it and it has that old tv show thing where it's just fully episodic and there is no actual ongoing story. The actual episodes get boring after the third or fourth one. No one watching it today will enjoy it when compared to other classic tv shows or even other episodic series like star trek, that just did it better

X files went in some weird directions after season 5 but that’s mostly David’s fault for being a diva. Vince gilligan had a great impact on the show when he joined and in my opinion seasons 3-5 are excellent. 6-7 are comedic. Season 8 is surprisingly decent. X files is a good show that didn’t handle the mythology very well overall but I still enjoy it.
