Apparently a24 are "extremely" confident in it. You'd hope so since it's their most expensive film yet. I'm side-eyeing at casting Kevin O'Leary of all the twats they could've chosen but I'll watch it regardless.

Smashing Machine is apparently nothing like the trailer implied and is a surreal and very weird film.
From what I can gather, it seems that Benny brought the cringe humour and dream-vibe, while Josh brought the sense of urgency and tight performances (ie he was better working with the actors).
Either way, Smashing Machine is a Rock vehicle while Marty Supreme is going for awards season. Would be funny if they both got nominated for best director
