It's like they tried to do a "chi" warping effect but forgot the effect. Either that or Sammo Hung is eye lasering them.

This was sloppaganda, chinese arts arent useful at all for defence, just learn boxing or something else, in real life the japs would have just blasted ip man with a shotgun, or the boxer rebellion where rebels tried to fight the marines using spears and chi energy
