Any of you anons know about the lore and details surrounding the newer Predator films and what the explanation is for them not using the original look of the Predator from the original film? Why are they constantly changed, different looking and nothing like the original Predator? I've heard about there being different sects and species of Predators but I've also been told that the practical effects and suit design of the original Predator created by Stan Winston remains the pinnacle look of Predator. Plus it's relatively obvious the newer films have used a lot of CGI to generate the movement and look of the Predator.

I thought Wolf from AVPR was pretty badass and took on the original design of Predator better than some of the later standalone Predator films in the franchise.

What do you anons think?

They keep on doing different time periods. Not just by a few years, but in the few hundred years range so in theory there's a lot that could change. Also differently ranked/aged predators.

The one from Prey is obviously meant to be a new, different kind of Predator and I actually like the design. The new one looks like they tried to make the original from memory.

I am more than aware of the Kevin Peter Hall. But they didn't make the og Pred look like he wear trainers and hunts fried chicken

It's so weird that in the age of extreme cultural sensitivity to racism we have these blatantly black-coded movies like Planet of the Apes and Predator and everybody's just like "yeah that's ok" but pops off if Snow White is played by a white person.
