Resident Evil is one of the best horror/zombie films ever made. There are people who try to pretend this isn't a fucking amazing film, and those people are losers.

Agreed OP. I remember the first RE film I saw was Extinction in 2007. I didn't really know to expect when I showed up at the theater being 15 years old. Everyone there was dressed up and one guy in full blown Wesker outfit in a trench coat and sunglasses. It was sick! I saw all the subsequent sequels after that in theaters. Afterlife, Retribution and The Final Chapter.

The first RE film with Milla is absolutely a cult classic in the horror zombie film genre. Apocalypse is entertaining and fun to watch as well.

Milla Jovovich is a goddess. God bless her family and kids. She replied to one of my twitter posts years ago. She's one of the most real, down to earth actresses I know out there in Hollywood.

I wish they would remaster 28 Days Later and take out all the film grain. Ruined it for me. 28 Weeks Later is my favorite just because of that. 28 years later was God fucking awful.

But yeah resident evil, I have the Blu-ray box set and every single one of them was enjoyable in some way.

He said he plans on doing something that doesn't involve any of the characters from the games, but takes place within the Resident Evil universe and is close to lore.

Nah, it's pretty great. Hot female lead, some pretty memorable action scenes, great soundtrack, and some iconic moments (laser grid, when the AI goes rogue and gasses everyone, ending scene with her in the streets)

When everyone is down in that warehouse underground and the team gets attacked by the undead I couldn't stop laughing at how amateurish so many of the cuts were. That's my biggest issue with the first RE. It flips between looking fine if not well shot and like complete garbage.
