It's better to experience it than explain it. Trust me, the games are both good, but the second one has one hell of a homerun of quality of life enhancements as well as a slam bang finish to the story. I can't recommend playing these games enough, but best experienced with a controller for sure. The controller isn't just a tool you use to engage with the world, it's a medium for the world to engage with you.

Really fun game, interesting story/world.
Awful characters/dialog.

Kojima just needs to get someone to tardwrangle his ass into not making every character a cringefest with a funny name that speaks entirely in exposition and his games would be unironic 10/10s.

my number one quality in games is immersion and the part near the end of the first game without Lou had me bricked up on immersion

I never interacted with online material about it but I felt like fucking Neo when I noticed BTs always block raindrops so you don't even need Lou
the game never mentions this
depth, kino, levelution, etc.

The chiral tar of the beach is making Lou fragile, Sam. Fragile is dead and her ka and ha is separated, she's dying very slowly. Because of time dilation. The beach makes everything super slow. Or not, because the beach is super quick for Lou/Tomorrow.
Lou is in the beach and grew up to be tomorrow. Higgs is in the beach for millenia. None of this makes sense, Sam, because Kojima is a hack
>Higgs is Solidus
>colonel from mgs2 is just Charlie/die hard man
>end fight against higgs in 1 and 2 is just the fight against ocelot in mgs4

I started having fun with it by just forcing myself not to think too hard about the story and characters and just go with it.

The gameplay itself starts getting fun about 5-10 hours in when you cross the lake into the second zone, when you slowly start to actually think about what you're carrying, plan routes, etc.

First one is a decent attempt at worldbuilding with a fairly novel approach to gameplay and subversively good characterization and character development. I went in thinking it was dogshit and went out really enjoying it. It's chock full of references to various things that Kojima likes but manages to establish itself as unique on many levels.

The second one is a dumpster fire that is representative of Kojima either pulling an Anno and shitting on the franchise and the characters out of spite or using it as a vessel to once more agglomerate a bunch of shit from other franchises he is interested in and dressing it up in a Death Stranding skin suit. That is to say, unlike the first wherein the referential elements existed in the background and added to the experience, the referential elements are the foreground and the background has been obliterated along with the characters and their development

Great game with addicting gameplay loop and great graphics. But I think being open world hurt Kojima's storytelling because for majority of the story, the story is just a mess of incoherent snippets that you have to just trust Kojima would eventually build up to something meaningful. I haven't played DS2 yet because I am not a console cuck, but I don't think Kojima even ever explains what the fuck are DOOMS, you just have to trust Guilermo Del Toro he knows what he's talking about when he relates any strange bullshit happening to Norman Reedus at random to him being a DOOM.

It's a side-effect of being a DOOM for sure, one of many random side-effects that seem to be related to the Beach (like Chiral allergy). But desu, there's just no pattern to them, even the Force has more coherency to it, because being a DOOM is what allows Higgs to control BTs, and also being DOOMS is what allowed Mama and Lockne maintain their telepathic link.

Narrative wise it's better, the story is told in a far more coherent and digestible way with cutscenes and exposition paced fairly sensibly throughout versus the gigadumps you got in the first game
Story wise it's more of a mess, all the wacky elements were doubled down upon so it's even harder to take seriously than the first game somehow

Starts saying the big bang. I turned it off after that. 20 seconds in after selecting start from title screen. Thereabouts.
Not the winner of fastest corruption prevention encountered in a game. That goes to Hell Blade for pushing psychology. That didn't even make it to the title screen. Scum.

Also has a talk show host scanned. So it's worthless. I shouldn't have bought it.
At least Margret Qualley's sex doll came of it.

Haha, probably a great game aside from the degeneracy, and once it's going gets good, overcomes Kojima pulling on straws (cocks).
But I doubt I'll know unless I get desperate.

Play Returnal instead. It's excellent.
Cyberpunk 2077 too so far.

Other games that I played long enough to decide they were good.

Observation
(You play as HAL, whether or not you try to kill them remains to be seen, likely, as they reset you, you probably made aware their self preservation comes before something extreme, to them. Eg they give you enough power to keep them alive, then kill you, so you don't see something worth killing them over. Eg their lab was to make superviruses safe in space. Why would a computer care. Maybe you aren't a computer. Maybe you're playing a game.)

Can't remember more. But memory is precious. Mortal Shell was ok so far. Didn't get far. Observation either.

Machinarium is great. I pirated it and finished it without a guide I think. Used a guide for Grim Fandango, it was still good for it. Bought Machinarium this year. Console version probably ok, a pointer like the wiimote would be much better than a joypad's stick.

Got some games for young girls. Playing as girls. I haven't played them. Lydia, Dull Grey, White Shadows. Could be good. Maybe shouldn't mention them. But quality should get preserved. Stuff for girls or about girls being looked after is good enough by itself. Examples good enough to allude a girl is faithful enough to exist, hope for help getting better, or just there. Explanation insufficient but too good to touch. Just look after. Have faith in.

The Eternal Castle
Was interesting too. Spoiled by other concerns, time not abundant to let what's there be better. Seen. Have to assume. Get more of a kick getting enough to be assured it goes on well than to see it.
Time is Infinate. But investment is elsewhere, putting in is taking out from other priorities, though adventure is and should be high. Feel guilty shirking other concerns to delve into something and lose troubles. Games are a good cure for corruption. Before it's encountered. After and you know you're being greedy. Ah.
Beautiful Desolation
Is good too. No combat so far. Just exploration and dialogue. Good. Combat ruined Planescape Torment: Tides of Numeria. As far as I played in.
Good story. Guessed the ending. Maybe should keep playing, it might do better. Unseen solution.
Best played at 720p on console so characters blend into background. They stand out at higher res. Lower res worth it for the supersampling effect.
High res is one of the worst things to happen to games. Lower res with better AA would be much better. Performance then spent on visuals or action, or AI. Complexity. Culling complexity to have clarity is a bad trade. Especially less there seen clearer. What a joke. Money/education as usual being stupid. The wrong people to make decisions.

>Lunar Devouring Mother & Vengeful Archontic Necromancer Son vs. Hero Twins/FetuSophia

Remember that Final Fantasy movie, where the World Spirit is infected by biomech Martian poltergeists they have to laser from space? Yea. Has environmental ability modifier of spectral zombie-ghosts that has a lot of potential as a set up. You need the Japanese punning and double-entendre for context to make the camp & symbolism hit rightโ€” the translator liberties (and Kojima's co-writer) made MGS1 what it became; for it to work it would require Kojima to have the humility to help localize it to Engrish so his ideas translate to audiences of largely non-tism normies. As for the storyโ€” insane prescience releasing before Clownvid you had to be there to experience, with some sussy occult elements and worse foreigner contemporary commentary on USA domestic politics, but that would lend itself to getting Hollyweird funding if anything. What he really has to do is be the first director of a certified art house kino adaptation of a game (Silent Hills).

>t. Never hiked

It's the ultimate land navigation game which constantly engages and immerses the player, and goes back to core fetch quest gameplay in a novel way with the asynchronous co-operative mission team play and infrastructute development that mirrors the haunting bad guy entities (and making the going hot playstyle different to the extent of altering geography if you fail).

Not him but that is correct, you can't. You would degrade them. You have already sold your soul to the enemy and getting more, or aid as if you still had one: You'd give it to the enemy. You are the enemy.

You didn't understand either. What Kojima tried to represent saves the world. Stops hell. You spread it as if innocent by that.

People making the world and unbown to corruption are some of the best examples. Your coward parasite kind does it's best to degrade them. Some fall, and agree with you. Go along spreading titles for individuals to mold themselves as. Defective. Less.

You are worth nothing to me. Training is wasted on you. Put in the position to effect solution you wouldn't. So wont happen. Better doesn't deserve to be let down seeing such traitors entrusted. Expected.
Expectation of heroism is not for you. You have already failed, without a fight.

Zero evidence for this, far more likely it was with full direction and the director is just mentally impaired.

All of his most praised games were written for him. He's a complete retard with characters, worse than George Lucas.
One of the writers in charge of MGs3 talked about how bad his writing is even in Japanese, so it's not a lost in translation type issue.
