The black reared his head at the sight of the lubricious form of the judge's pale phallus serpentine it wandered gazing out into the world as an infant unborn and yet undesired brought into the world cold and pale and unbreathing. Its pillaric form shone brightly in the void the pillar stood mute upon the black promontory a monolith wrought in obscene geometry. The Judge took to a foul chimeric cacophany of grunting as his member penetrated serene the fistula of the niggers anus dark and unmoving in that sea of serpentine parades the Judge set to stirring up the very soul and the thrice uncottered dreams of the buck were fetched as if a pulque upon the sunborn indigo infant of the world yet unawakened in this land or any other. His breaking came forth as if unbidden into that old night the shadows long and gristled as each thrust was delivered ungouged and unrequited it's eldritch desire can be found buried deep within the hearts of men. As some titan cherubim this pale form let out a cry in the tongues not of man or beast but like to an infernal register unheard in this world since that brought forth tears from the eyes of the watchers and were rendered as stars that danced like naked pygmies upon the bastion of Babylon. The watchers members taken also in hand at their opportunity to arrive unbidden into the bastion of that forsaken womb to bring forth not a child of god but a buck rendered broken upon the firmament which would render the dreams of that infernal race delivered asunder unto the world, writhing and unformed but yet natural in the land that conjured it.

You'd need a ton of cash to make it and nobody besides bookfags would see it.
They could also change the structure of the story and tone down the gore to make it more gringo movie like, but then book fags would hate it and normies might not watch it either way.

It's doable, against what some people say. Most of the violence wouldn't even be that gruesome when it comes to modern TV. A film is perhaps a bit too much, but a miniseries would fare well. Then, again, while we are capable of creating a motion picture as brutal as the book itself, most people would be outraged. Not by the violence of course, but by the blatant racism, despite the fact that Cormac only described the reality. The injuns were savages, but there were people far worse than them in the south-western waste.

How? The book is 100% prose. The actual events of Blood Meridian are almost inconsequential, everything about it that mattered was an exercise in language. It's not just a book that can't be filmed, it's also a book that would lose 90% of its meaning if translated. Everything important in Blood Meridian is hidden in its text because of the way McCarthy blurs the lines between the narration and the dialogue. There are whole parts of the book that are ambiguous as to whether they are dialogue and narration. How the fuck would you film that?

Conan is better than Lord of the Rings, but that is neither here nor there.
Pulp Nietzschean philosophy >>> Catholic Neoromanticism

McCarthy jerked off at a desk and never deployed during his stint in the Chair Force.
He's larping about knowing what violence is really like. Something he never touched but wanted to pretend he did.
Storm of Steel is an actual book by a crazy motherfucker that fought in arguably the worst conditions in human history from the start to the end. It is honest and comes from the actual experience of a man that fell in love with war but held no fantasies about it.
Blood Meridian as containing some deeper truth is a meme.
Storm of Steel and actual memoirs by people that spent their lives in war have the actual truth.

Honestly I'm just going to say it, it would be easier to make a Blood Meridian video game than a movie.

Sort of like how every attempt to make Dune in a movie misses 80% of Dune because Dune has hundreds of pages of internal monologue and philosophizing that would be totally impractical to deliver or convey on film. It can be adapted in a way that shows the events and implies the dialogue, but this requires enormous care.

Blood Meridian is like that except moreso, because even the actual events are themselves delivered in the form of immense poetic descriptions. The thought of trying to "say" everything that Blood Meridian was saying with just visuals is daunting. I'm sure it could be done, but I am nearly as sure that it would not be done. All of the guys who could have maybe done it are dead.

Perhaps not as a people, not as a whole, but one of the themes of the book is that while you can scrape any society and find individuals in it so demonic that they will put the Comanche to shame. The Glantons are the concentrated tar of America, weaponized against the Red Man at everyone's peril. The Comanche, even if against their own will, must have some redeeming feature represented within their tribe somewhere, by virtue of chance if nothing else. The Judge is pure, unalloyed fuligin-black evil, and the tribe he makes of the Glantons winnow out every trace of decency left in them one tare at a time until all that is left is murderous insanity and barbarism.

Didn't White people scalped Natives as a sport? Pretty sure they did and it was common.

>Various European American colonizers also scalped Native American people from at least the 17th through the 19th centuries. It was a way to provide proof that someone killed a Native American person
People got paid for it and it was normal. It wasn't something deep, just a job.

Howard's work fundamentally lacks the sentimentality that Romantic literature requires.
Howard's work wasn't looking back to any glorified past, he was writing books set in the past with a prescriptivist message about the future contained within. This is something he shared with Nietzsche, himself.
Otherwise, Conan is a superman. Milius got the character wrong in his adaptation but the original is the perfect polymath that exists above the rest of the world as a superman with his own moral code and rigorous value system that others are magnetically drawn towards.

Probably on purpose. First misinform the public, then mystify the issue later.
