The animation was fine, it's not a matter of price, the budget was completely appropriate. The only real flaw with animation is that all the side characters had extremely ugly, generic faces.

Way better. Don't listen to the contrarians here, it's still fairly close to how King of the hill was (at least in the later seasons) and it's still humorous in the same way. Dale's voice is the hardest thing to ignore. I'm 7 episodes in and Connie being ERM was the worst part, though it is in character and she gets mocked by a new age hippie type for being a dumb hoe.

As a matter of principle I generally don't watch old television shows, especially cartoons, dug up from the graveyard. Even if it's the best thing he's ever done. (Still haven't watched the "third season" of Twin Peaks even though I love Lynch, and probably never will, even though it has an asterisk next to it compared to other shows.)

It's not bad, it's mostly has the tone of the later seasons of KOTH, but not in a bad way. There are a handful of moments where the tone becomes just a little bit too cartoony (in like a bobs burgers kind of way) for the KOTH world, but they are fleeting. Kahn and Ted's voices are butchered. Dales is pretty bad but you can suspend disbelief if you consider he's been chain smoking for 40 years

I don't really mind the color, but it's like someone's doing an impression of some other character and not Dale. He has a kind of gay, feminine drawl that OG Dale doesn't.

I have the same issue with it as I did with the Beavis and Butthead revival. The characters are way too verbose than they originally were. They speak way too eloquently and use too many words they wouldn’t have back then. This is especially evident in the beavis and butthead where they used to be at a literally retard level of communication but now they seem to have magically gained 20 IQ points. I think Mile Judge just doesn’t have it in him to be just a little less highbrow after Silicon Valley. Like all his humor must have some sort of educated nuance to it. Dudes kinda old now at this point. I think he’s lost his ability to make idiotic humor with subtle irony. Everything is very on the nose with him nowadays.

I keep saying, they should have had the original show be around 1997-2002, then make a time skip of 8 years to around 2009 or 2010. Youtube had just started a few years ago so there's some social media, but it's not wholly dominant and the world still felt somewhat "normal".

I grew up with the series, but KoTH has become my comfort show over the last 4-5 years, so I'd been watching original run episodes almost nightly. The new season is just more episodes of the show I love... I don't know what else you were looking for with it.
