Why does nobody ever mention how Prometheus is a loose adaptation of the Alien: Apocalypse comic from 1999? I've only seen it a couple of times on this board and I just got around to reading it and it's really good, I wish it was longer. I don't know if Ridley Scott was aware of it but Jon Spaihts has definitely read it before writing the script.

I dunno, but the idea of the jockey being an organic suit was floating around way, way long ago. Zoomies don't seem to understand the concept of multiple continuities and exploring different what-ifs. To them everything has to be one homogenous perfect universe and every discrepancy can be headcanoned away. Really dumb

No. They fundamentally remove ANYTHING interesting about the xenomorphs. They make it NON-ALIEN by definition. They are not something foreign accidentally stumbled upon in the depths of space. They have been on Earth the whole and are Humanity's sibling made/used/modified/whatever by the same creators. Everything interesting about the first movie destroyed and they can't help themselves but continue to ruin it.

well, as long as Alien has been around, there's never been one singular canon. They've experimented with many different stories. Sometimes the space jockeys have legs and telekinesis. Sometimes they don't have legs. I like it better when they're just really into biotechnology, merged with their ship or grown for that purpose and exploring the galaxy collecting organisms for zoos or eating. Not God's, not perfect, not trying to genocide humanity, just random aliens flying around stumbled on the alien accidentally getting killed too.
