Was there some kind of mass extinction event for jeets in alien universe between alien earth and alien 1?

the whites all went to off-world locations, per blade runner lore.
one thing that bothered me, is why they didn't just make all synthetics white. who would want a black or indian synthetic in their crew? also, why did they put an Indian boy's brain in an Indian synthetic's body?
