Projector is obviously better in a room dark enough for it and obviously worse otherwise.

projectors seem like toys for dads who don't have enough things to spend money on. I've never seen one outside of a theater that actually looked as good as a normal TV

I had a projector pointed at the ceiling in my room to watch movies/tv while laying down in bed. Best use I could come up with for it. Otherwise they're cool if you're on a lot of drugs and want to project some nice colours on any random wall.
If your not going to do either of those things id just go with a tv desu.

TV. There isn't a projector that can match the fidelity that TV's can have. But if video fidelity isn't your thing and you're going for size, projectors are still king.

Do you need 100"+, have enough space for proper seating distance, and can control the amount of light in the space? If yes, get a high-end projector. If no to any of those things, just get an OLED TV.

I've had a 4k projector for 5 years now. Never going back to TV unless I move and there's no possible layout for it to work. It's awesome. massive blank wall space and blackout curtains. Like going to a small theater every time I watch you tube even.

modern projectors still have -some- downsides but not having a fuckhuge black obelisk marring your room is a winning argument already
