This entire show was just blue balls after blue balls. Didn't this show have a random card game arc out of no where? And didn't gon lose an arm just to magically get it back? Didn't killua have a random sister introduced towards the end of the series that magically had powers to heal gon back to normal? I remember that one mini arc where it's set up that the main characters have to save killua from his family and then his family just lets him go at the end and nothing even happened.
And then the show randomly introduced a narrator like 100 episodes in with no context. And a huge fight was built up between chrollo and hisoka that never even happened. And then one of the chimera ants was literally a fucking koala bear and had character designs that looked like some shit from PBS kids. And then every other episode spent like half of the runtime going into how the power system (that nobody gave a shit about except autists) worked. This shit was literally the worst anime I've ever seen over 100 episodes of. I've never seen a show, movie, or read a story with as many deus ex machinas and sudden plot deviations as hxh. And no, it wasn't "subversive." It was unfocused, poorly written, and seemed like the writers could never stay on track of what they wanted to do with the story. Yu Yu Hakusho clears and it's not even fucking close. It's actually insane that it was the same creator. Also, gon hair looks fucking stupid.
