>Great news guys! We've got dinosaurs, time travel, the bad guy from Avatar, Spielberg as a producer...
>alright, now let's ruin the whole thing with 13 episodes of teenage drama
>>213707040 (OP)Pic Rel was my personal favorite of the failed Lost style AAA event series craze of the early 2010's
I didnt even make it past episode 2, thew signs were already there
this is why the show was destined to fail
you can't just set a show in the Cretaceous period and then be like uhh sorry guys we can't show the dinosaurs, cgi too expensive, pls understand
the moment the guy gets the magical gf instantly interested in him, and then the same for the girl, it was over.
A darker concept where dinosaurs are actually dangerous would be great. But they're such a kryptonite for writers, as a dangerous entity.
They just end up becoming goofy and a non-threat.
>>213707463I was waaaay more interested in the time travel storyline than the dinosaurs.
>>213707747i didn't finish it, but i figured that would be dropped or fucked up too.
>>213707040 (OP)i liked the show, dont recall jack shit now but it and alot of other shows that i was into being cancelled AND with cliffhangers made me cut my cable back in like 2012, why pay for cable when everything i watch is canned. you cancel my shows i cancel your payment
what was the story like, ooh we found a new planet to live in OOOOH ITS ACTUALY EARTH FROM YEAR 3000 OOOOOO
>>213707833>what was the story like, ooh we found a new planet to live in OOOOH ITS ACTUALY EARTH FROM YEAR 3000 OOOOOOThat's not the premise at all. They deliberately go back 70 million years on Earth because in their present (our future) the environment is completely destroyed.
>>213707313This is the honest truth. Spielberg + Dinosaurs should've been a dream, but having to watch humans arguing when they should've been running from enraged animals was just stupid.
>>213708023i could have sworn there was some twist that it already had technology there
>>213708064There were implications that were never confirmed that they were in an alternate past timeline from their own. Which was kind of a big deal in storylines back then before a gorillion marvel movies and sci fi shows about alternate timelines came out.
>>213707040 (OP)There were more dinosaur scenes in the lost world than in this stupid show
>>213708064iirc they find traces of some ancient civilization in the last episode
>>213708238I believe they assumed it was an alternative timeline because the first thing they did was send back a time capsule like object into a geologically stable region then see if it was still there in the present
but in the last episode the time capsule thing gets destroyed so there's no certainty it is an alternative timeline anymore
>>213707040 (OP)did anyone see La Brea
similiar premise and it is irredemable shit
