My cat just died, he was my best friend and we lived together for 15 years, yet there's something weird I can't stop thinking about is that how I'll be the only one to keep his memories and when I die nobody else will even know he even existed... I know the same thing will eventually happen to me and nobody will even remember me... Is there any movie or tv show that handles this? I suppose any book might be useful too.

I'm sorry OP. I remember being in college and getting a call from my mom. She sad she let the cat outside and he didn't come back.
I had that little guy for ten years. He never turned up again.

Just accept it like you accept the fact that you will die. Think of how many people have lived and died since the start of written history. Think about how many people are actually remembered. That makes me happy. Louis Wain helped elevate cat owning society in England with his art. His carefree high society cats were beloved by a lot of children and adults.
