Man of Steel was pretty shit story, but 2025 Superman pretty fucking garbage too. Like polar opposite movies in terms of whats wrong with them. But was shocked to see how many scenes are just straight cut and paste from MoS. First couple in webm are 'ya, only so many ways to walk or talk', but soon as the zod fight and spinning throws and can tosses, etc happen, its hard to deny.

For some reason we’re not allowed to have a good Superman movie. I think what everyone wants is Superman 1970s but done in modern times with better special effects and some better action. We want the aesthetics of man of steel but the story and tone of Reeves. We wanted that playful banter at the daily planet and we wanted the goofiness of Clark Kent trying to hide that he’s Superman and we’ve never had this since Reeves. You can say Brian Singers Superman tried to do this, but the key word is “tried”, it tried and failed. It had some good action set pieces like the plane and the mini gun on the roof but that was it, it was ultimately a sad miserable cuck story and it ends on a sour note. Since then they’ve tried to do Superman different and it’s never quite worked.

Zack Snyder essentially created the entire visual language of superhero cinema. Let's face it, the man is a giant.

All these attempts are just proving the character of Superman needs a TV show to properly develop his story. A movie should only be made if it is a season finale cliff hanger and they want the conclusion to be on the big screen. Make it an event with purpose and it will do well.
