Fuck me man... This really is some of the most epic shit. When the Cheetahs enter the frame, and then range ahead? Something about the battle charge really gets me going. When you think about how those Cheetahs are sentient, how they're so eager they can't help but form the vanguard, I'm getting misty eyed. That centaur drawing two swords is a cherry on top.
I remember getting the same emotional reaction reading Theoden's charge in Return of the King

Not that poster, but I saw this in theaters and I didnโ€™t remember this scene AT ALL. There is something extremely forgettable about this movie I canโ€™t quite place.

The kid who played Peter almost single-handedly ruined this film with his godawful acting and his fucking weird, creepy narcissism during the media tour to promote the film.

Also, the girl who played Susan was clearly chosen for her looks and not her acting or charisma, because she had none.

Luckily, the two youngest kids, Edmund and Lucy, both did a really great job.

But they all had a fairly retarded script to work with.

They called it a kids movie because they botched the material.

It was very rushed, and that made it seem like the danger wasn't dangerous and the emotional scenes were just going through the motions and playing the prescribed notes in the prescribed order and everything just lacked punch. It seemed like it started out as a film that could and should have been epic, but as soon as Lucy met the Faun, everything after that seemed like the same formulaic Hollywood schlock as every other movie.

I don't know who would hate it more, somebody who loved the books or somebody who never read them. I just can't imagine either type of person enjoying it at all.

Kids movies used to have the protag do cool heroic things.

Hell, even Harry Potter had him fighting a giant snake in the 2nd movie

i remember reading narnia before the movies came out and thinking how fucking gay it was, except for the horse and his boy, that one is good. The prince caspian one is alright too a little heavy on the loli undertones though
