still don't know why dumbledore cast an obvious hack fraud as his DATDA teacher, guess he values pulling pranks more than actually giving the kids an education

Because he knows (or strongly suspects) the position is cursed, he uses it to get rid of problematic wizards.
Its the reason he won't give snape the job until he knows he has a year left to live.

I don't remember these books that will and never read the last 1 or 2 (nor the last 1 or 2 films) but wasn't he bitter because he wanted the job and didn't get it?

Because he knew sirius was on the loose, and that having lupin close to harry would be the best protection.
>>213716840
Because he's one of the most powerful wizards of all time. Like >>213716883 said he was partly salty about not getting the job, but he didn't come to hogwarts actually expecting to get the job. It was really more to make sure that an entire generation of kids would grow up with a dodgy education in the defense against the dark arts.

He more wanted the job to give him an opportunity to search Hogwarts for more secrets and to obtain more artifacts of the founders, especially Gryffindor, the one he lacked any of, for his Horcruxes, although indoctrinating kids as a teacher would be useful for massing more followers. In any case he was definitely a little pissy that Dumbledore told him to fuck off.

Because that teacher was the one who stumbled across him in Albania where he was hiding in a forest, plus Quirrell was previously the Muggle Studies teacher, he was stepping into the Defense role that year.

I doubt he waved his fist like that asshole wizard in the smurfs and put a deliberate curse on the position. I imagine it was something less tangible. His rage rippling out into the web of ethereal magic that binds the world or some shit

Because voldemort had already dropped the mask by that point.
He just wanted to get on the grounds so he could put the horcrux diadem in the room of requirements.
He had already made the huffelpuff cup a horcrux, and slytherine's locket.
He really wanted to complete the set but the sword was the only item of gryffindor's still kicking around and dumbledore kept it in his office.
