What's with the trope of characters wearing bandages on their arms/legs/etc when they are mystical or martial arts based? It irks me bad because it reeks of mental illness and DEI to wear bandages for no reason like that like "teehee look at me, im disabled!" like is he trying to hide his diabetes leg sores or something? I don't get it.

When you cause trauma to your body, your body usually engorges that part with blood. By wrapping it, you restrict blood flow, and thus aren't immobilized by your own body until you are unwrapped.

It's based on the idea of bandages used on Egyptian mummies, which were believed to provide magical protection.

So instead of just googling it to find out why, you chose to display your ignorance by spouting off the stupidest thing you could think of?
God DAMN, op.
