This is better than Weapons. Why wasn’t it talked about more?

I liked it. It was like a parody of the Final Destination films. And for a Stephen King adaptation it's probably one of the best since Shawshank Redemption.

Fair, but even in regular life I barely heard anyone talk about it. Weapons was great IMO, but finally got around to watching this and it’s a blast.

We were just talking about it on the previous /hor/ thread. It's a movie whose subtle humor and references to macabre but somewhat funny tropes seems to irritate viewers with literalist expectations.

Oh. I don't actually talk to people outside of my family and my dad doesn't like horror movies anymore so he would have been the only person I could have seen it with.

We did but you were apparently filtered by the humor element, which is pervasive: the absurdity of the cartoonish deaths, the sermon and the ppl's reactions, the ending etc. It in fact filters midwits since the tongue in cheek factor requires a certain type of perception

It is clever bc it doesn't take itself seriously, it addresses serious issues with the lightness that they sometimes requires.
Your spergout implies (not unpredictably) that you might have autism/low IQ or a very inexperience outlook. Try to expand your midwit expectations and flow with movies as they are

Well, your autistic cluelessness is for you to deal with, anon. If both the inevitability/randomness of death and the complex nature of sibling rivalry and parenting don't seem serious to you that's a you problem.

I won't say it's better, but I laughed my ass off. Also I loved the weird faux retro aesthetic that blends the 70s when King was really getting into gear with the modern era. Really weird and trippy, somewhat dreamlike at times, but not over the top.

You made confused plot based elements as somehow "address(ING) serious issues". Meanwhile, the connections you're making are superficial and shallow.

You're a fucking moron, lol. Imagine being pretentious about a splatter comedy based on Stephen King.

>DURR, THEY'RE BROTHERS WHO DON'T GET ALONG SO IT'S ADDRESSING THE SERIOUS ISSUE OF SIBLING RIVALRY
It's more that one brother is psychotic and the other is a wuss. This sets up the plot. They don't compete for attention from their mother, that dynamic is barely explored, and it's literally just good brother/bad brother.
>DURR, PEOPLE DIE AT RANDOM IN CRAZY WAYS SO IT'S ADDRESSING A SERIOUS ISSUE BECAUSE DEATH AND RANDOMNESS AND STUFF
Do you think the Final Destination movies are deep? Lol. Getting killed randomly is just the main horror element of the movie and it's done for laughs. It's not deep commentary on the human condition you absolute retard.
>LE PARENTING THOUGH
It's not parenting so much as it is the good brother learning to form relationships, dummy. The movie is a comedy and doesn't dwell on pretentious bullshit. The relationship is basically the good brother no longer being weary of human connection, monkey be damned, and accepting his role as a father.

You're a moron.
