Mad Max video game. Also Furiousa is genuinely better than Fury Road.

Hell Or High Water, Sicario, Steel Rain, I can name several just from the 2010s.

Fury Road was being quietly worked on by George for decades. He was polishing it the entire time, but it took so long to get made because of funding issues.

Furiosa was thrown together in about 6 months, a shitty "origins story" is a quick and easy way to throw the fans a bone, they will eat it up gladly, and you'll make an easy buck off them.

Furiosa was good, but Anya Taylor Joy isn't a good choice for her. Her spaced out eyes meant that when she wore goggles, they looked absolutely retarded

Not only does it look cheap, but it looks even cheaper when ScarJo isn't on screen. I am not comparing the actresses, I am comparing the actual video quality. ScarJo looks like she's in a real (albeit shitty) movie. The other lady looks like she's in a comedy skit in the middle of a youtube video essay.

tl;dr: hubris
Miller did the first 3 Mad Max movies in like a 5 year span
then in the mid 90s he started developing Mad Max 4 which more or less like a complete outline by 1999 that was nearly 1:1 what the exact story the film ended up being by the time cameras rolled in summer 2012, but he cut all of Curiosa's backstory for time
fast forward to 2022 and he films the backstory he wrote in 1999
so from Miller's perspective the Mad Max franchise has been about Furiosa for WAY longer than it ever was about Max, hence why he thought audiences would follow him on a Max-less Mad Max movie

The thing I disliked about Furiosa was it had that biopic problem of just jumping between events and then when the war was just a montage it was ehhh.

The only thing Furiosa had going for it was being intended for R from the start
Fury Road was shot PG-13 safe but after test screenings they left in the bits that pushed it to R

The only real problem I had with furiosa was how the mad max movies were always disconnected and might as well be stand alone adventures, i don't really want to see a prequel about some side character.
