What makes guys like Tony succesful is they're violent sociopaths. If he was small he'd still be more willing to get violent than 95% of people and would just use a gun if he couldn't lean on his huge stature to scare/hurt people. Ralphie is just as effective a mobster as Tony and he's a borderline small guy
