You get to watch either absolute garbage or absolute kino.
None of that boring, middle of the road shit.

Couldn't agree more, it's made me more open to just rolling the dice on a movie I don't know much about, as well as purposefully watching low-budget garbage for some laughs. It's free anyway, so who cares?

Yep.
It has all the shit the other guys don't or want to charge you a real price for (Amazon).
It has a surprising amount of good anime from the 90s and 2000's, all the good shit we grew up on.
It has a HUGE Horror B-movies selection. So any horror movie you can't find on Amazon, it probably has. It has all the Phantasm movies except Number 2, which it seems only Amazon has, and not for free. You can find Phantasm 2 online as a online stream for free if you look hard enough.
Tubi is fucking great for October.

Downside I would say is:
Not a very good comedy section. Its rather small and most are literal whos.
Its no Amazon. Tubi is more a "if its from before 2010, and its not on Amazon, its probably here".
But that also means if it is on Amazon, its probably NOT here. So if you're here to see something that is VERY popular, ir came out in the last 5 years, its probably not here.
Its not a one stop shop.
Also ads. HOWEVER, if you bring up Tubi on your PC instead and have an adblocker, it will work. So thats cool.
I have a mini PC the size of a Nintendo Switch that I have hooked up to my main TV so that I can use adblock to watch youtube videos on my TV, and to watch movies I have on my PC. Shits great. I have an "air mouse" remote too. Basically a remote that works like a Wii remote, it has a mini keyboard built into it.

Also Tubi has its own "TV". Like Roku it has like 30 or more channels that live stream. They're not that good though, and none of them are real channels like Nbc, Abc, Fox or Cbs.

The only downside of torrenting is discoverability. You have know what you want to watch beforehand or browse through recent/popular releases. Tubi and other streaming services have that old feeling of randomly finding something to watch on cable tv.

Not really the same thing. You can just turn on Pluto or Tubi and just find some random middle of the road 90s action movie or comedy you never heard of playing. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re slop. But there’s the element of “oh I wonder what’s on today”that linear TV used to have. It adds a bit of spontaneity and fun. Torrenting just doesn’t function in that manner.

Everything you’ve ever watched is because someone “told” you to. Whether it’s the marketing team who advertised it to you, the YouTube algorithm that suggested the trailer, the top charts on a torrenting website, an IMDb or /tv/ list, etc. You would never know any movie existed unless someone tried to convince you to watch it. What the fuck are you talking about anon?
