Without trunk it looks too simplistic and plain, doesn't present a character.
Superman's color palettes are always blue-red-blue. If they want to remove red trunk, the belt needs to be red and bigger or has complex design

Men in latex suit doesn't work, it's gay-coded. It's the reason Canvill got many fangays because of that superman suit.
