I've had maybe 2 issues in 20 goddamn years and I've been going to the same theater in the rich area of town since I was in high school
>>213773820>it's only bad in [90% of America and 75% of Western Europe]Oh is that all?
Had no problems at my theater and there was even a couple of groups of teens there. Everyone was white, not that it matters.
>>213773754 (OP)non whites go to the movies at a higher rate
>>213773754 (OP)I just watched this in the cinema earlier today - the crowd were actually great. No phone lights, no talking, people laughing/jumping together and stuff. It was really comfy.
The sad thing is I’ve had lots of bad experiences too and it only takes one person sitting on their phone or talking too loudly to ruin it. I tend to go to later viewings at the end of a films run so that there’s minimal people there. I go on my own anyway so I guess I should just enjoy the experience of watching films with other people
>>213773879move to a better area and stop bitching, fag
>>213773754 (OP)I went to the nearby IMAX to see DUNC 2 and Godzilla.
The tickets were, like, $5.
There were maybe 3 other people?
It was motherFUCKING loud because of their idealogy to "crank everything up 'cause it's IMAX." Unpleasantly loud, no joke. Not the audience's fault, though.
Those are the last 2 movies I've seen in a movie theater since something like Transformers. The first one.

Went to a screening in my town, huge IMAX theater and screen, maybe like 16 people total spread up into groups of 2-5, had a blast
In contrast I saw Smile back when it came out in my hometown in a regular screening, it was around noon and filled to the brim with mostly teenagers, fuckers kept shouting shit, forcibly laughing at stuff to seem cool and the worst part was when one 15ish yr old cunt sitting next to me started facetiming her friend near the ending, but we just got drunk and wine and tried to make the best of it
So it really depends on who’s in there with you, but in a big enough theater and without too many people it’s hella fun

Last movie I went to see was Man of Steel, my town doesn't even have a theater anymore so guess I won't be going ever again.
>>213773910in the early 2000s I swept up isles in a bargain theatre.
Fat Mexican ladies would bring in the most absurd feasts in giant purses. I cleaned up the discarded carcasses of two rotisserie chickens, torn tortilla pieces, the orange peels from, what seemed like, 20 pounds of oranges strewn over the floor with the usual layer of popcorn and garnishes of candy bar wrappers of outside brands in Spanish.
The scene and smells of an extended brown family tearing apart a greasy chicken and oranges with their bare hands while chewing loudly and jabbering in a spanish creole through a reprisal of The Fast and the Furious (the theatre kept showing it even after it'd been on video / broadcast for years) has never left my mind. The sounds. The smells. The horror.
But anyway. I'm sure all the nonwhites will support the industry with their robust economic contributions once white people depart just like they did with malls.

>>213774337I understand "why" they crank the volume up so much, and basically every IMAX I've ever seen has has ridiculously loud everything... but it's disappointing when they do it. And it was very disappointing this last visit, too. Just hours of explosions to the point I actually considered complaining to the staff when the film was over.
I'm glad to see you also run into presentation problems, too; let's me remember I'm not the only one getting rustled by stuff.
This also reminds me to visit my local planetarium, again. It's been a long time and I bet it's cool. I better go before the kids are visiting with school starting this week.
>>213773754 (OP)I went to a screening of the recent Apollo 11 documentary and it was one of the most pleasant theater experiences I've had in the past ten years, because the theater was exclusively peopled by a few dozen older white boomer couples and the odd white nerd singleton. Nice quiet screening, the odd low, respectful murmur where a wife would ask a question or one of the men would mansplain a bit, but they were older boomer couples and used to each other so they enjoyed each other's company and didn't worry too much about this sort of thing, even if they have some understanding of it.

Option A:

>low-contrast image from projector
>high-contrast people in the audience
>pay for tickets, over-priced snacks, and travel
Option B:
>Big screen tv at home

Hmm
>>213775908Option C:

>>213775448Still more preferable than niggers.
>>213774010It's like $18 to see a movie here. If you wanna get popcorn and a drink that's another $20.
I only go when I have time off work in the middle of the week for a movie in its 2nd+ week, so there's never more than one or two other people in the theater with me.
During the recent JW movie some guy two rows down from me kept opening his bright ass cellphone and texting. Every time he did I threw a milk dud at his head. Turned around twice, third time stood up yelling, whole theater told him to shut up and he didn't open his phone again. Felt good. The milk duds were all right.
I haven't been to a movie theatre in 10 years. The last time was for a showing of the original Suspiria, before that I hadn't been for another 10. Paying money to hear people talking, rustling bags of crisps, the sound of them talking with a mouth full of food. I was going to end up killing someone so I stopped going.
>>213773957>The tickets were, like, $5.This, between inflation and general outrageous ticket prices, that they've collapsed shows how bad the industry is hurting. This is 1990-level pricing.

>>213773754 (OP)I saw Weapons earlier and I really do wish everyone would have shut the fuck up, but the movie also wasn't good enough to warrant anyone taking it seriously. It didn't even take itself seriously. There were more parts that were played for laughs than anything remotely scary or even tense. There were a couple gross-out moments and jumpscares but overall it was just irreverent. I can hardly blame the guys behind me obnoxiously cracking jokes about aids needles when the movie literally ended up making the same joke itself 5 minutes later.
>>213776554I have to admit, being in a big city out in the midwest, I've never really had qualms about "overpriced" entertainment; Omaha, Nebraska's Warren Buffet billionaire has made this place, frankly, really well-supported.
So, when I say "$5 IMAX ticket" I really mean it. Though, I suppose, I was attending screenings on a Tuesday, months after its opening, so they do anything to get anyone to buy any ticket. (I also don't snack at movies. Or work.)
>>213775465It's an overall brown person problem

>>213773754 (OP)Had two fat sheboon niggers screaming at every horror scene. They kept talking during scenes and loudly reacting to every little fucking thing. I want to kill them so badly. Worst part is that if you call them out, they have the nerve to give you attitude.

I'm an autist so any noise during a movie irks me but my screening was fairly decent. People only really made noise during the comedic moments and largely stayed silent. Couple of cunts who pulled their phones out for 20 seconds at a time but that was the only thing that really annoyed me.

Not only do people talk, but they play videos on their phone at full volume or have their phone at full brightness.

I'm so glad I live in a largely white city
>>213773754 (OP)Imagine admitting you've went to the movies to watch a crappy movie 3 times. Haha.
I've only seen phones out twice (one was for a really terrible movie so I don't blame her; the other wasn't a good movie either but I do blame her because she had the volume on making the artificial key clacking noise while she typed) and talking has only been bad enough to ruin the experience once. It's rare enough where I live that after the first person went back to the counter to complain about kids being loud someone came in and gave them a warning, and when I went back out like 20 minutes later to say they still wouldn't shut up the manager came back and threw them all out.
>>213773957Only time volume being too high was a problem for me was in the local Dolby Atmos theater for Godzilla Minus One. The ads before the movie were cranked to ear bleeding levels which made me think they had to turn up the speakers because the movie was mixed lower than standard (it was Toho's first American distribution), but no, they just had it that high for some reason and my ears were ringing for 24 hours. Only time I went back to that specific theater room was for Weapons and the level was fine, so that must have been a one off mistake.
Going to mainstream showings sucks. If you go to old screenings or theatres that cultivate a more cultured audience, then it won't be so bad. I'm sure that the average audience for the Holy Mountain will be different to the fucking Minecraft movie.
As opposed to paying with bad money?
People in helsinki behave pretty well. One time I went to the movies in tallinn and they let in fucking chidren to a 16 rated movie and those fuckers did not stop talking.
