Why is season 2 supposedly bad?
I tried twice and it's hard to watch. Maybe if it was a standalone tv show, but when you're expecting True Detective 2.0, it falls short. Vince Vaughan is ok for comedy but hard to take seriously. Casper knew this. Vince posting was a fun outcome of the show, but a good one liner hasn't been made since the meme was a few days old.
>>213776940Idk why it’s so hard for me to get into it. Maybe it’s because it shares a lot of camera work and sound design with S1 but the content seems all wrong
>>213776807 (OP)I'm convinced that the people who hated season 2 are the reddit neckbeards who only loved season 1 cuz they relate to Rust's pseudointellectual nihilistic bullshit.
Season 2 is kino, and honestly about on par with season 1.
>>213776940>>213777150I liked S2 but I really lacks the atmosphere of S1 which is what made it so good. LA is just not as interesting as the rural south.
>>213777238Am I cringe if I related to Rust but also understand that that’s not a positive thing by any measure?

1) Season 1 was just that good. gritty and noir and philosophical. 2) Season 2 really is great for the tone / atmosphere / "vibes" but man the overall real estate plot is pretty dumb. I still think it's worth your time for Colin Farrell's character alone
>>213777257There's something really putrid and unsettling about the rural South, and TD S1 perfectly tapped into that.
>>213777437It’s genuinely because of Slavery
>>213776807 (OP)that bar scene with frank and ray while lera lynn plays in the background lived rent free in my head for weeks
just how bad is the latest season?
i thought about watching it, but the ratings really put me off.
